2016 Membership Spotlight: Lauren Perry


















What is your name?
Lauren Perry

Why did you get into the music industry?
I had a discussion with my Dad while in high school about what I should pursue after. He encouraged me to look at my interests and talents and go from there. My love for music coupled with my leadership skills pointed me towards Ferris State University, the only school in Michigan offering a Music Industry Management degree. From there, the rest is history! I definitely made the right choice.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of being a co-creator of Turn Up The Good, a now annual concert at Ferris State University.8 friends and I presented the proposal at Ferris State’s Finance Division and Student Government meetings. We were allocated a $40,000 budget & assisted in every aspect of production from concept to clean up. We had over 1600 in attendance and the concert is now in it’s 4th year! Always nice to leave something behind.

What are you looking to learn from WMBA?
I am looking to learn more about the other members of WMBA and how we can help each other to reach our goals as we all strive to succeed in this industry.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In 5 years I see myself in some sort of leadership role within the music industry. FA SHO.

What was the first album you ever purchased?
1st Cassette Tape: Hanson- MMMBOP!

New Romantics- Taylor Swift (it’s my ringer on my office phone)

…In my Fiance’s arms!

What’s something surprising about you?
When I was in 5th grade I literally had a spare rib grow up into my shoulder area that I had to have removed! I have a nifty scar, the rib they took out was 3 inches. Super weird.
