(Nashville) The Women's Music Business Association (WMBA) had a record breaking turnout at this year’s open enrollment meeting, recently held at the NSAI Studio.
Approximately one hundred and twenty five women were in attendance to learn more about WMBA, and to hear guest speaker; CURB recording artist, Jo Dee Messina. Messina spoke passionately and candidly about music business and her upcoming new record. WMBA will be accepting applications until Jan 19, 2010. WMBA is dedicated to fostering opportunities within the music industry through education, networking, industry involvement, community service and organizational fellowship.

WMBA Announces OPEN ENROLLMENT

October 20 , 2009

(Nashville) The Women's Music Business Association (WMBA) announces their open enrollment for membership beginning on October 20th. Women who are working in music business, and are interested in joining WMBA or learning more about the organization, are invited to attend an open meeting on Tuesday October 20th @ 6:30pm at the NSAI studio, and are welcome to attend the pre-meeting social hour at 5:30. WMBA announces NEW OFFICERS and chairs FOR 2009/2010

The Woman's Music Business Association (WMBA) is pleased to announce it’s newly elected Officers and Committee Chairs for the 2009-2010 term. Officers serving for a second term are: President, Brandi Simms; Vice President, Penny Dionne; Secretary, Kama Upton, and Treasurer, Holly Ashby. New Committee Chairs are: Membership, Kasey Cleckler; Community Service; Stephanie Mundy Self, and Social is Lindsay Puddy.

WMBA Volunteers For 10th Annual Miller Harris Memorial Golf Tournament

The WMBA volunteered at the 10th Annual Miller Harris Memorial Golf Tournament.  The Miller Harris Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 by family and friends of Miller Harris, who died tragically from an asthma attack in September of 1999 at the age of 25 while preparing for a golf outing with friends.  The Foundation has been set up to promote and support scholarships and organizations in Miller's name.

WMBA Sponsors At 22nd Annual Music Row Ladies Golf Tournament

The WMBA sponsored a team at the 22nd Annual Music Row Ladies Golf Tournament.  This annual event was held at the Old Natchez Country Club to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee.  Some of those who participated are in the picture below: Penny Dionne (Team WMBA), Beth Schackne (Team Iron Women), Holly Ashby (Team WMBA) & Sherrill Blackman (WMBA caddie).

WMBA Announces "I'm So Music Row" Day

June 8, 2009

The Women’s Music Business Association (WMBA) officially declares Wed June 10th   as the first I’m So Music Row Day. WMBA T-shirts will be spotted all over the Row and throughout the CMA Music Festival Kick-off parade by the WMBA artist escorts.  All of Music Row is encouraged to wear their T-shirt. WMBA Announces 2009 Award Recipients And Intorduces First Group Inducted into Alumni

The Women’s Music Business Association celebrated their 2009 Annual Cocktail Reception and Awards Ceremony at Limelights. This years Awards were presented to the following outstanding WMBA members: Wonder Woman of the Year: Loretta Martin, Miss Congeniality: Sheree Spoltore, Taking It To The Streets: Melissa Bollea, Public Relations: Leslie Mitchell, Entertainer:Tarryn Smith, Passion: Holly Hefner Nance, Moving On Up: Whitney Sutton, and Helping WMBA advance to the Next Level: Heather Hubbard.  Congrats to all of the WMBA Award Recipients.
In addition, a special induction of WMBA’s very first Alumni Group was announced at the celebration. Inducted into 2009/2010 Alumni are: Melissa Fuller, Dana Kelley, Jessica Porfirio, Amanda Thompson, Sara Pociask, Malia Axsom, and new Alumni Chairman, Jennifer Witherell.
